Example cases of image licensing and collaborations

As well as illustrating Maryceleste Clement's Mr. Tootles series of books, Paul helped create the title character and others in the series. More information on the book series at tootletime.com.

Paul made the CD cover art for the Andy Smith Band, "The Ballad of Dave Robicheaux." As described by musician and songwriter Andy Smith, "the song is haunting, has elements of the blues and of gospel, is dramatic — and, of course, is based on the character of Dave Robicheaux, a detective and the protagonist in many of local author James Lee Burke's books." Schexnayder also wrote and produced a video for the title song, his sister Becky Owens editing the final piece. More information at andysmithband.com.

Southern Mutual Help Association (SMHA) asked Paul to provide artwork for its report, "From Hurricanes to Hope," which focused on SMHA's recovery work in 120 rural Louisiana coastal communities. Paul created several new images for the project. The report recently won a gold in the League of American Communications Professionals Vision Awards annual report competition. You can see the report at southernmutualhelp.org

Leading textbook publisher, Scott Foresman contacted Paul for the use of one of his paintings for the 2005 Social Studies-Louisiana textbook. His painting "Fun Fest" was used as a chapter title page and other spot art in the People and Culture section of the elementary school book.
